Dr. Guns is the Senior Pastor of the Second Calvary Baptist Church
in Norfolk, Virginia, where he has served since June 1983. He is active
in the National Baptist Convention, U. S. A., Inc. (NBC). Dr. Guns served
as the President of the Virginia Baptist State Convention (VBSC) from 1997
to 2001 and as the Moderator for the Tidewater Peninsula Baptist Association (TPBA).
He has traveled extensively to Israel, Turkey, Greece, and Africa. He has led several
short term mission trips to Nigeria and Kenya. He is married to the former Rosetta Harding of Richmond, Virginia.
