Dr. Joseph E. Lamb, Sr. is a native of Norfolk, Virginia and the Senior Pastor of St. Thomas A. M. E. Zion Church, Norfolk, VA. He is marries to Joyce G. Lamb and has three children and nine grandchildren. Dr. Lamb received his Doctorate of Ministry from United Theological Seminary, Dayton, Ohio in December 1998 and his Master of Divinity Degree from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology, Virginia Union University, Richmond, VA in 1995.
Dr. Lamb has been in ministry for 20+ years. During that time Dr. Lamb has held the position of senior pastor for the majority of his ministry. He was called into the ministry for the mission of delivering God's redemptive word to the lost and bringing a word of hope and empowerment to the believer. He knows that the mission Christ left for the Church was not to be fulfilled only through the work of the pastor, but through the work of the entire body of Christ.
Dr. Lamb believes that in this age of diversity and discovery, God is calling ministers to find new ways to apply the "Good News" to a new emerging world. The church is called upon to develop new ministries for today's world where the church is to be alive, vibrant, and relevant for today's generation.
